DTI After Hours
A Premiere Service for the Globex Trader!
In 1996 Tom Busby turned on his Globex machine - the first one from Houston, Texas to Boca Raton, FL at that time. Busby and his trading colleague and long-time friend, Bill "The Greek", stayed up many long nights watching the S&P trade through the night session. Through their 10 years of observing the Globex they developed a method for trading the S&P Futures during the night market.

Here are some things Tom and Bill learned watching Globex trade:
- The S&P is a thin market at night.
There is not a great deal of volatility in the evening and early morning session on the S&P Futures. There are even times when as little as 10 contracts will actually move the market, (usually during holidays or pre-news time periods, e.g. the GDP or the Unemployment Report).
- Charts are not as helpful in Globex as they are in
the day session.
As daytraders we rely on charts to lead us to the support, pivot and resistance in those top indexes that we trade, (E-mini, Nasdaq, Dow and German Dax). The night market is different. DTI has developed several proprietary indicators to help us answer the question: Long, Short or Out?
- The foreign markets operate much like the U.S. markets.
The key is to understand the code of the Asian and
European indexes.
When the U.S. markets close the sun travels across the world to Asia and to Europe. The country with the sun is the country that controls the markets. It is important to be aware of major financial news announcements scheduled for some of the foreign indexes including the Hang Seng, Nikkei, CAC-40, FTSE, SWISS & the German Dax Futures.
